Amsterdam Cup, May 24th & 25th 2008 The year 2008 marks the 10th annual Amsterdam Cup.
This year a total of 217 teams from 6 different countries (especially Holland and the United Kingdom) will participate in the tournament.
The tournament is held on 7 different sports facilities in Amsterdam and surroundings on both grass and artificial soccer fields.
All matches are played on both Saturday May 24th and Sunday May 25th.
Amsterdam Cup Poster 2008
The Amsterdam Cup Poster 2008 is now available. The poster will be distributed to all soccer accommodations, agents and clubs in the region.
Posters are free of charge, but will not be send to your address. You can pick up the posters (for free) at our office in Haarlem. Click on the photo above to see enlargement.
Tournament FormatThe Amsterdam Cup is an initiative of Expersport together with a group of soccer clubs from the city of Amsterdam. All teams will play a minimum of 6 games spread over Saturday and Sunday. In the first round all teams play in groups of 4 or 5 teams. All teams in 1 group will play each other once on the Saturday.
On Sunday the second round starts. All teams that qualify as number 1 or 2 in the 1st round groups will play in the 2nd round -A-. All other teams from the 1st round will play in the 2nd round -B-. Again all teams are placed in groups and play each other once.
The 2nd round group winners play the (semi-) finals. The tournament organization reserves the right (if needed) to make adjustments to the above mentioned tournament format.

Friday May 23rd:
- Arrival of all participating teams
Saturday May 24th:
- 09.00 a.m. Start of the First Round Tournament Matches.
- Today's matches will go on till approx. 7 p.m. hours.
- Teams play on a part of the day (you're not on the fields from 9 am till 7 pm).

Sunday May 25th:
- 09.00 a.m. Start of the Second Round Tournament Matches.
- All (semi-) Finals are played today as well.
- Approx. 6 p.m.: End of Tournament.
- Departure of teams (or on Monday May 26th).

Tournament Regulations
The Amsterdam Cup is sanctioned by - and will be played according to the regulations of the KNVB (Royal Dutch Soccer Federation) except for cases as mentioned specifically in the tournament regulations. See tournament regulations.
Trophies & Pennants
Teams that become number 1 to 4 (in both the A- and B- finals) receive a trophy. At registration all participants receive a pennant, as a souvenir of the tournament.
It is highly appreciated to give your opponents one of your club pennants (if available) before each match. Please note this is not compulsory!
